Living in the Ruins

In 2009 the city of L'Aquila was enterely destroyed by an earthquake. With professors Andrea Branzi (founder member of Archizoom Associates) and Michele De Lucchi (founder member of the Cavart group) we imagined a new way of using L'Aquila.

The focus of the laboratory is the building of a series of models of ruined city blocks inspired by images from the city of L’Aquila after the earthquake. The model itself was the main project, we also imagined a series of light structures that can be insert in the destroyed city and make the city crossable.

The project was published on ABITARE
